French Open 2025: Three Indians in men's doubles second round as Bopanna, Balaji, Bhambri shine in openers
New Delhi: Three out of the four Indians advanced to their respective men’s doubles second round at the French Open 2025 on Wednesday. Rohan Bopanna, N. Sriram Balaji, and Yuki Bhambri all registered victories with their partners in the opening round of the men’s doubles, but Rithvik Bollipalli crashed out of the tournament with a tame straight-set defeat.
All three pairs endured contrasting wins as Bopanna and his Czech partner Adam Pavlasek battled past Americans Robert Cash and JJ Tracy 7-6(8), 5-7, 6-1 to head into the next round late on Wednesday. The duo notably converted four break points and won 68% of their first-serve points in what was a hard-fought and gruelling encounter, which lasted two hours and 11 minutes.
