ISRO successfully launches GSLV-F15 mission for navigation satellite
New Delhi: At 06:23 hours IST on the dot, the tallest operational rocket in ISRO’s fleet, the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) Mark II successfully lifted off from the Second Launch Pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), India’s launch complex at Sriharikota. The liftoff capped a 27-hour countdown that started yesterday. The payload is the NVS-02 navigation satellite, the second of five satellites that ISRO intends to launch to upgrade its Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC) Position, Velocity and Timing (PVT) services infrastructure.
