ISRO has a new Chairman, V Narayanan
New Delhi: S Somanath’s reign as ISRO Chairman will come to an end on 15 January, 2025 after two short years with the appointment of Dr V Narayanan as the new ISRO Chairman and the Secretary for the Department of Space. The position has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. V Narayanan is currently the Director of the Liquid Propulsions Systems Centres (LPSC) that has its headquarters in Valaimala at Thiruvananthapuram with a satellite facility in Bengaluru. Narayanan is an expert in rocket and spacecraft propulsion and joined ISRO in 1984, and worked with the first indigenous orbital rocket, the Augmented Satellite Launch Vehicle (ASLV).
