New Delhi: A couple of days ago, ISRO shared the first images of cowpea plants sprouting within the Compact Research Module for Orbital Plant Studies (CROPS) payload developed by the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre in Thiruvananthapuram, one of the many research laboratories associated with India’s national space agency spread out across the country. The experiment is designed to germinate and sustain the cowpea plants till they reach the two-leaf stage. Now ISRO has revealed that the cowpeas have sprouted leaves. The experiment is designed to last for up to a week.
