Parliament Budget Session LIVE: The Opposition created an uproar in the Lok Sabha, demanding a discussion on the January 29 stampede at the Maha Kumbh, which claimed at least 30 lives. They also pressed for an official list naming the deceased, accusing the government of lacking transparency. Eventually, Opposition leaders walked out in protest.

The protest and sloganeering came two days after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget on Saturday, which included key announcements such as tax exemption for salaried individuals earning up to ₹12.75 lakh annually. On Budget day, the Samajwadi Party had also raised slogans demanding clarity on the Maha Kumbh deaths before staging a walkout.

The first phase of the ongoing Budget session will continue until February 13, with the second phase scheduled to begin on March 10 and conclude on April 4.

TMC MP Derek O Brien has slammed the government for attacking Sonia Gandhi over ‘poor lady’ jibe at the President.

“Any criticism of her speech is certainly not directed at her or the high constitutional office. It is an established convention that the President’s speech is scripted by the government. So from 2014 to 2024, the BJP-led Modi government scripted the president’s address. This year, a creaky, shaky BJP with 240 seats has scripted this address. So, I am not surprised when the leader of the opposition finishes speaking. Everyone wants to…..This is a sign of nervousness, and not being in control,” said TMC MP Derek O Brien while speaking on Motion of Thank on President’s address in Rajyas Sabha.

Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar has urged the MPs to work in unison to forge policies that elevate India’s standing on the international stage. He also asked the MPs to ensure dignity of Parliament. His statement comes amid the third day of the Budget session that witnessed a brief walkout by Opposition parties in the morning session after the Rajya Sabha Chairman did not approve their notices to suspend the listed business of the day and taking up issues mentioned in their notices.

"Ten years ago, Rs 2 lakh crore was spent on infrastructure. While today, the expenditure has risen to Rs 11 lakh crore. One can only imagine the state of the country if, in 2014, Narendra Modi had not become the Prime Minister, and if the BJP had not come to power with a full majority. If Atal Bihari Vajpayee had not taken office in 1998, there would have been no Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, no railway overbridges, no beautification of railway stations," said BJP MP from Haryana Ram Chander Jangra.

"We have filed a complaint with the Speaker regarding what Rahul Gandhi's remark on External Affairs Minister S Jai Shankar in the Lok Sabha. How can the Leader of the Opposition say in Parliament that the External Affairs Minister went to the US to request an invitation for the Prime Minister?," said Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju.

"People are forced to commit suicide, the unemployment has crossed all limits in the country. The inflation has affected the city residents and its impact on people living in villages is worst. This govt has given the guarantees of some rich people and that's the reason that the difficulties faced by the common man is increasing by the day," said MP and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said in Rajya Sabha while speaking on the Motion of Thanks on the President's address.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has secured a historic third-term victory. This clearly indicates that the........
