New Delhi: Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen played starring roles with the bat as Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) hammered Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by six wickets at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Monday to knock them out of the race for the playoffs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. SRH rode on impressive knocks from Abhishek and Klaasen to chase down the target of 206 runs comfortably with 10 balls to spare to register a thumping victory.

Abhishek slammed a quickfire 59 off 20 balls, while Klaasen scored 47 off 28 balls as the duo anchored SRH’s chase to perfection. In the absence of Travis Head, Abhishek stepped up in the 206-run chase to get SRH off to a flying start. The left-hander opened the batting with Atharva Taide, but the duo could add only 17 runs for the first wicket.

New Zealand pacer William O’Rourke dismissed Taide cheaply on 13 to draw the first blood for LSG. However, Abhishek continued his aggressive approach on the other end to race to his fifty in just 17 balls, helping SRH capitalise on the Powerplay. Abhishek smashed a hat-trick of sixes against Ravi Bishnoi in the 7th over to complete his fifty.
