Opinion | How PM Modi’s ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ Inspires Positive Behavioural Change In Students

Examinations have long been a source of stress for students and their families, often triggering anxiety, self-doubt, and performance pressure. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative, Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC), has emerged as a game-changer, fostering a qualitative behavioural shift among school children across India. Since its inception in 2018, PPC has evolved into a movement that redefines how students approach examinations—instilling confidence, reducing stress, and promoting a holistic learning experience.

With PPC 2025 setting new records in participation and outreach, it is evident that this initiative is much more than a once-a-year event; it is a revolution in the education system that embraces learning beyond marks and grades.

The eighth edition of PPC, held on February 10, 2025, captured the nation’s attention. With over five crore participants, this year’s event stood as a testament to PPC’s transformation into a Jan Andolan—a people’s movement. The programme brought together students, teachers, and parents from diverse backgrounds, ensuring inclusivity and democratising the conversation around examinations.

For the first time, 36 students from across all States and Union Territories—including those from Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, Eklavya Model Residential Schools, Sainik Schools, CBSE, and State/UT Board Government Schools—were selected to participate in this prestigious event.
