Mamdani’s response to the Gracie Mansion attack: Letters to the Editor — March 11, 2026
The Issue: Mayor Mamdani’s response to the ISIS-inspired bombing attempt outside Grace Mansion.
Radical Islamist, ISIS-inspired extremists fling IEDs onto the streets and Mayor Mamdani sees fit to first name and shame the loathsome loons who carried around a goat to bolster his dubious claim of Islamophobia in NYC (“Decrying evil only ‘Zo’ far,” March 10).
A shrieking mob of Jew-haters attempt to blockade a synagogue and Hizzoner blames a “sacred space” for staging an event promoting life in Israel.
New York City’s voters outdid themselves in their election of indecency and ignorance’s personification in the form of Zohran Kwame Mamdani.

What the oil-price panic really tells you about our leaders
Mamdani’s response to the events by Gracie Mansion was pathetic — what a lousy leader. He must think the two suspects are sweet innocent people who were just making water balloons.
New York City’s milquetoast mayor’s failure to deliver a full-throated condemnation of the ISIS-inspired bombers at his press conference was one for the ages.
This incident was not an example of moral equivalency: The anti-Muslim demonstrators, vile and ignorant as they are, were not carrying bombs. The two ISIS-inspired “counter-demonstrators” were.
Moreover, Mamdani repeatedly deferred to Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch during the presser to answer questions that he should have been able to answer. He is useless.
Was anyone surprised that Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman-Sigal’s initial reaction was to blame white people for the terror attack (“Beep’s aim is off on protest,” March 9)?
When will people realize the Democratic Party is not the party of peace and love anymore? That ship has sailed. It is now the party of racism and violence.
After the brave NYPD officers risked their lives and arrested the punk ISIS-wannabes who were bent on mass destruction, it’s good they didn’t end up before DA Alvin Bragg, who would’ve downgraded their terrorist actions to “a couple of wayward teenagers just having some fun.”
If they did something like this in Iran, they’d be dead alongside the estimated 30,000 citizens who did nothing more than march.
Why not drop the bomb-throwing, wannabe ISIS-terrorists in Iran? That would wipe the smirks off their faces.
The Issue: “The Nest,” New York University’s screen-free area on campus with crafts, games and stuffed animals.
One would assume students accepted into such prestigious institutions possess the maturity to regulate their own work-life balance (“Childish NYU toy story,” March 8).
Is it truly necessary to designate a specific area to remind adults to attend to their personal wellness?
This feels like an unnecessary level of micromanagement in higher education; perhaps the administrators’ office should be renamed the “Cuckoo’s Nest.”
I hope the students themselves recognize the condescension inherent in this “brilliant” idea. If they do not, it is alarming to think this generation represents our future.
As NYU students reprise their kindergarten days, one might consider 1 Corinthians 13:11: “When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”
At NYU, apparently, not so much.
