I woke up to the news that there was an assassination attempt of sorts on you. Intriguingly, the attempt happened at the same hotel where another Republican president, Ronald Reagan, was shot. 

It is easy to concede to a conspiracy theory, which, however, over the years, has proven to be uncannily true, that the attempt had the hallmarks of an orchestrated false flag operation to bolster your flagging political fortunes against the backdrop of US midterms. 

But, to be fair, let’s give you the benefit of the doubt. The attempt may have been real. If it was real, what conclusions should you draw from it?

One, your country is in the midst of an unprecedented crisis. It appears to be at a “tipping point”, almost on the verge of a civil war. 

While America is no stranger to assassinations and violence of a political nature, from Abraham Lincoln to John F. Kennedy and so on, in a world defined by a technological and communications revolution, states or deep states have to literally dance on their toes to create conditions such as these. While deep states never get to cop the blame, the faces of power, which are, in any case, ephemeral, pay the price.

If your country is at the cusp of a civil war, then it is time for you to assert leadership that is sober, ethical, and pragmatic. What would this mean and imply? 

First, rise above partisan interests and the misleading advice given to you. It appears, from a distance, that after your presidencies, first in 2016 and then in 2024, you have been gaslit.
