If you've been watching the Olympics, you may have noticed athletes and attendees exchanging pins.
It's a time-honored tradition at the Olympics, explains Mario Simonson, CEO of Los Angeles-based Honav, which made Team USA's pins this year. While the events bring people from different countries together, they might not speak the same language and pin trading doesn't require speaking. "It's a way of communicating through trading pins," he says, adding that it can be a bonding experience.
Every country that participates in the Olympics has its own unique Olympic National Committee pins, he explains, as do sponsors, media personnel, and public figures. Honav has been a Team USA sponsor since 2012 and is licensed with the team for the Olympics through the next four years, including the Milan 2026 Games and the Los Angeles........
