Samsung Proved People Will Pay Over $2,000 for a Folding Phone. Why That’s Good News for Apple

In early July, Nikkei Asia reported, citing people familiar with the matter, that Apple had told its suppliers to prepare to build roughly 10 million foldable iPhones this year, up from an earlier target of 7 to 8 million units. The heavily rumored device exists, for now, in supply-chain reports and analyst notes, where it has lived in some form for the better part of a decade.
