Small business owners are known for being both upbeat and happy—attitudes usually fueled by doing what they love for a living, and getting to be their own bosses in the bargain. Now, new survey data not only quantifies just how cheery and optimistic entrepreneurs are today—despite ample economic and geopolitical reasons for feeling grimmer. It also finds Gen Z as the most contented of those founders, contrasting their reputation as difficult, even aloof employees when they’re working for someone else.
