Rabbit founder Jesse Lyu is teasing his company’s next device, and it’s all about vibe coding.

Jesse Lyu, the founder behind AI hardware and software startup Rabbit, says he and his company are on a “redemption arc.” 

In 2024, Lyu released the rabbit r1, a touchscreen-based device that was advertised as a daily AI assistant. But initial response to the r1 was mixed to extremely negative, with popular tech reviewer Marques Brownlee describing the device (which is still on sale) as “barely reviewable.” After that rocky launch and a major software overhaul in late 2025, Lyu says Rabbit has learned some hard lessons that will inform the development of its next major hardware launch: a dedicated vibe coding device.
