According to Todd Baratz (@yourdiagnonsense), a sex therapist at LUBELIFE, these slip-ups are completely normal. “Sex isn’t like a scene out of a movie; it’s not a choreographed dance,” Baratz told HuffPost. “The reality is that sex is not only about the physical aspect of embodiment, but it is also about emotions, relational dynamics and a whole lot of psychology.

“When you combine all those elements, some awkward moments are inevitable.”

Erica still has no idea why one particular name got stuck in her head while she was having sex.

“I was sleeping with a guy, and for some reason I couldn’t get the name Frank out of my head, even though the guy I was having sex with wasn’t named Frank and I didn’t know anyone named Frank,” she said.

The more she tried not to think about it, the worse it became.

“All I could hear in my head was, ‘Frank, Frank, Frank, Frank, Frank,’” she said. Terrified she’d accidentally moan the wrong name, she desperately searched for literally anything else to say.
