'I visited one of the UK's poshest places but found a strange village with a ghost pub and left confused'
It has been ranked as one of the poshest places to live in the UK. With sprawling mansions, rolling fields and breathtaking views Kirby Overblow is the envy of neighbours in highbrow towns of Harrogate and Wetherby.
It has recently been named one of the poshest places to live in the UK by the Telegraph. According to the article, the average property price in the North Yorkshire village is an eye-watering £762,566. But what do you get for the huge price tag? I went to find out.
Hopping into the car and driving down to the village, I was expecting great things. I daydreamed about being lady of the mansions only Scrooge McDuck or Bruce Wayne could afford. Before I knew it, we had turned off from the A658 into the village - and I was brought down to earth with a bump.
As we travelled along the road, we spotted a few houses with fields, presumably owned by farmers, that weren’t, in my humble opinion, that spectacular. They seemed small for the alleged property price average.
