The installer didn't tell me generator needs a new gas meter. What can I do?
Hurricane Beryl knocked out power for more than 2 million CenterPoint customers in July. Getting the company to come out to upgrade gas meters that power generators is a process.
Q: Our new home generator was installed on June 24 by a local dealer. During the hurricane, it never worked! A technician finally came by on July 12 and figured out that our gas meter had to be upgraded for the generator to work. Of course, this was not checked when they installed it. CenterPoint can’t come out until Oct. 10 to upgrade the meter. How can I get this resolved? Please provide me with a website that I might consider as a last resort for an attorney that specializes in consumer protection issues.
