Friend's estate is slow to process inheritance, what can be done?

Q: A good friend bequeathed $10,000 and some jewelry to me when she died in Massachusetts in 2015. I received a check for $9,000 from the law firm handling the estate in May 2022. I have sent frequent emails to the law firm about the delay in receiving the remainder, but they have never responded. I am 92 years old, and I do not want to hire an attorney to represent me in this matter. What recourse do I have? Should I write to the Massachusetts State Bar to plead my case?
