Scotland critical to UK growth, but more to do to harness potential

A wave of global instability heralds what the Prime Minister calls a "post-globalisation era", where governments abandon rules-based systems in favour of deals based on "national interests". Keir Starmer says the UK’s Modern Industrial Strategy, Invest 2035, due this summer, will underpin our national response to these uncertain times.

The UK has a chequered history with industrial strategy, launching but failing to stick with long-term visions, but with government desperate for sustainable growth and industry crying out for a stable and supportive investment environment, it is vital that we get it right this time.
