Calm heads needed to dampen the fire of EU steel tariffs
The challenges coming at industry in the last few years sometimes feel like another everyday obstacle, namely roadworks. Even before one set approaches its patiently-awaited end date, another yellow sign with black writing announces the next adjacent road closure, and the wheel of disruption goes round again, and again.
Whilst the next UK Government Budget in late November brings concern that it could be another one of those lines of cones, let’s leave that aside until we see what and who is impacted. In the meantime, we join a long list of voices urging the direction to be one that allows businesses to grow through support from governments, not shrink through further company tax burden.
