Disgusting online rumours and innuendo on Nicola Sturgeon is an utter disgrace
I’ve been disturbed by some of the online commentary about Nicola Sturgeon following the news that she’ll face no charges relating to Operation Branchform.
Ms Sturgeon gradually became a very divisive figure in Scottish politics, stemming from her fanatical commitment to gender ideology and self-ID.
Several very talented women in the independence movement and beyond were marginalised and then hounded from public service because they had refused to bend the knee to Ms Sturgeon’s diktats.
One feature of this bitter debate was the stark difference in approach of both sides. The feminists and lesbians who came together in the common purpose of opposing the steady eradication of what it means to be a woman have conducted themselves impeccably. They’ve refused to rise to the absurd levels of intimidation and violent threat they encountered whenever they gathered to discuss these issues.
Yet now, whenever Nicola Sturgeon ventures into the public arena, she is facing the same sorts of abuse – mainly on social media – that many of her detractors have endured.
Much of my criticism of Ms Sturgeon in the last few years has stemmed from my belief that she seemed to have made gender self-ID her main focus of commitment rather than Scottish independence. She’s also emboldened an army of inadequate misogynists in the SNP and the Scottish Greens to bully and harass women.
Now, however, some of those who have been fiercely standing up for the dignity and rights of women think nothing of mocking Ms Sturgeon for her........
