Glasgow, Edinburgh and Prestwick airports have delivered plenty of positive news.
Scotland’s airports have had plenty of positive news to share in recent times, providing welcome rays of light amid the UK economic gloom.
Edinburgh Airport, the incredible momentum of which has continued following the hiatus forced by the coronavirus pandemic, has kept on racking up an impressive array of new routes as it has proved a magnet for many airlines.
Glasgow Airport has also achieved significant successes in winning flights as it has rebuilt connectivity following the pandemic.
However, Edinburgh Airport has since around the turn of the millennium enjoyed significantly better fortunes in terms of propelling passenger traffic than Glasgow Airport.
And Glasgow Airport’s lack of direct transatlantic flights in recent years has stood out like a sore thumb.
