I recently came across the bizarre but fascinating fact that the internet weighs approximately 60 grams.

Quite how that figure was reached is beyond me but the scientist that came up with it clearly doesn’t sit on social media all day, although perhaps they should so they will stop calculating things that don’t really need calculating.

Regardless, it is one of those little titbits of information that we will choose to accept without question, as frankly it seems to be an awful lot of hassle to disprove.

It is also a fact that none of us really needs to know but one that may come in handy in a pub quiz tiebreak question and if it does – you’re welcome.

But regardless of how much it does – or doesn’t – weigh, it is fair to say the worldwide web has come a long way in the last 30 years or so and has changed virtually everyone’s lives.

If most of us are honest, then we all spend far too much time browsing on our phones, laptops and tablets with very real consequences in losing touch with good old-fashioned human interaction.

Even in pubs, most of the clientele seem to be browsing rather than talking to each other, which rather defeats the whole purpose of going there in the first place.
