Nostalgia of the non-existent

What is so fascinating about the birds that leads certain men to spend a good deal of time just observing them. Matter of fact, like other commonly admissible forms of human activity such as trekking and cycling, it too has scored a name for itself. It’s called bird watching. But it’s not like a watchman who in his capacity as a guardian watches over a premise solely as an act of duty. It’s recreational— nature’s very own theatre for human leisure or so we assume. And like every other performance, it too should need an audience to exist for what isn’t observed, from at least a purely humanistic point of view, isn’t existing. 

But what is it really about the birds? Is it their enchanting speech with which they seem to call upon us endlessly. Those mesmerizing tunes that we tend to relish even on the dullest of days. How much of the human speech is capable of doing just that? Very little, we would all agree. And when it does on occasion, it’s rarely in its natural form. Most of the time it has to be molded into music or poetry........
