Public office is public trust
In a democracy, authority flows from the people, not from power. India’s Constitution is clear: every bureaucrat, police officer, and government employee is a public servant, bound by oath to serve citizens with fairness, dignity, and restraint. This understanding should guide every official from the moment duty begins. It is not a matter of discretion—it is the very foundation of constitutional governance.
The Preamble sets the spirit of governance through Justice, Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity. These values are meant to reflect in everyday conduct—how applications are handled, how questions are answered, and how citizens are spoken to. Governance is not only about decisions; it is equally about behaviour, tone, and attitude. The smallest interaction often shapes the largest perception.
Article 14 promises equality before law, while Article 21 protects life with dignity. Together, they remind us that authority must be exercised with courtesy and patience. Every citizen stands equal—regardless of economic background, whether economically weaker, middle class, or affluent.........
