“Hey Pete, what are you working on now? You’ve been on the phone all day.”

“Sorry hon, I’m just setting up next week. I have to get all of this paperwork together for Tom so he can work on an IRS issue for me, and then I have to drop this letter at my attorney’s office so we can finally close on Mom’s house. I figure if these folks are going to go in and work Monday, I better have everything in order for them.”

“Why? What makes Monday so special?”

I look at Anne for a second, then say, “It’s Labor Day.”

Anne smiles for a bit, then says, “No Pete, that’s not this coming Monday, it’s the next Monday.”
