John E. Norvell is a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel. He is a decorated air combat veteran and a former assistant professor of military history at the Air Force Academy. Norvell has contributed articles to numerous newspapers, including the Washington Post, and historical publications. His combat memoir, “Fighter ’Gator,” is available on Amazon and other platforms. A 1966 graduate of Hobart College, he was awarded an honorary doctorate in 2024 for his contributions to veterans’ affairs.
