So, what exactly is a Doula?

You may have noticed that, in addition to being a veterinarian, I am a Companion Animal End-of-Life Doula. Doulas provide support and guidance to pet caretakers during the end-of-life journey for their beloved companions. This includes, but is not limited to, emotional support, practical assistance, and help with planning and navigating the difficult decisions surrounding pet death, especially hospice care and euthanasia.
