'Horror' after fire causes £5,000 damage while family out for Mother's Day meal

Terry Kirt, from Starston, near the Suffolk-Norfolk border, has experienced "one disaster after another".

The 61-year-old became wheelchair bound following a crash ten years ago, her car was damaged in a fire, and she was scammed out of thousands of pounds for a new car last year.

Then, on Saturday, while out for an early Mother's Day meal with her family at The Needham Red Lion, her neighbour called to tell her that her shed was on fire.

"When I got the call, I was horrified," she said.

"From the camera, I could see the flames coming from the shed."


Norfolk Fire and Rescue say they were first called at around 1.20pm and two crews attended.
