People living in St Peter South Elmham, near Bungay, said they heard shots during the night of Thursday, May 21.

The following morning, a deer carcass was found in a nearby field, prompting unease among locals.

The animal was discovered close to Low Farm, opposite the River Beck.

Those who saw it reported that the deer appeared to have suffered a wound, raising suspicions it may have been shot.
