Plans for a new Lidl supermarket take a step forward with a new application

The chain first put forward proposals in December last year to build a store on the site of a garage along Norwich Road in Halesworth.

Now Lidl has lodged an application with East Suffolk Council for a premises licence for the development.

The bid seeks permission to sell alcohol off the premises between 7am and 11pm, seven days a week.

Members of the public have until June 18 to submit representations to East Suffolk Council regarding the application.
