Locals in Lakenheath have expressed disappointment, noting that the incident came as "no surprise" given the recent trend of such crimes in the area.

At approximately 3.45am on Wednesday, June 24 , a gang used a JCB to rip a cash machine from the wall of the Co-op, loading it onto a black Nissan Navara pick-up truck before fleeing in convoy with a blue Volkswagen Golf R.

The ATM was found in the back of a Nissan........
