Top NFU official Neeve McGinty told dozens of farmers gathered at a meeting in Halesworth that the political lobbying she and the team undertake has never been more important.

Ms McGinty - who as external affairs manager is responsible for delivering the NFU's external affairs strategy - was special guest at the latest Lovewell Blake/NFU Farmers’ Evening held at Halesworth Golf Club.

Her role involves building collaborative relationships with key politicians, civil servants and stakeholders - and raising the NFU’s campaigning and lobbying profile in Westminster.

It has been a uniquely busy year, she told farmers. It included an extensive pre-Election programme of candidate briefings - as well as co-ordinating the #StopTheFamilyFarmTax campaign.
