Adnams AD plant developers address residents' traffic and smell concerns
Under the proposals, the facility - planned for an existing but vacated AD plant at Southwold brewers' Adnams' distribution site at Reydon - will be revived and deal with all 30,000t of Suffolk's domestic food waste as well as brewery and restaurant waste.
More than 20 residents gathered at Reydon Village Hall for a consultation evening about the plans.

They were told there would be just 12 vehicle movements a day between 7am and 7pm - if the plant gets the go-ahead to start operations in May 2026 as planned.
The food waste trucks will be taken into a sealed unit designed which emits filtered, clean air before being unloaded and their contents crushed to be made into a "soup", explained developer Bio Capital chief operating officer Mick Fishwick.
The "soup" will be eaten by bugs and emit methane which will go into the gas network as a green biogas, replacing "fossil fuel" natural gas which is currently used to heat and power homes.
"Basically, you'll be burning renewable, recyclable methane as produced on our plant," he said. "It's a virtuous circle."
By-products of the process include pasteurised agricultural fertiliser which will be used........
