Sections of the Beccles Common Play Area have been fenced off after it was reported this morning that toddler equipment was damaged.

A member of Beccles Town Council said she believed the items were "hacked with a saw or an axe".

She added that the other set of equipment was also vandalised just a few weeks ago.

"It is a shame for the young children," she said.

The council has warned members of the public to avoid using the play park with young children until the site has been secured.
