Much ado about a flag... Theatre mocked for overwrought 350-word Union Jack statement
Theatre bosses have gone to dramatic lengths to distance themselves from a national flag which has been put up on a flagpole on the pavement nearby.
Officials from the Seagull Theatre, in Lowestoft, felt moved to issue a 350-word public statement giving their troubled thoughts on the offending flag, like a particularly anguished soliloquy.
Like a reluctant thespian drawn back to the stage, the venue, in Morton Road, Pakefield, considers itself to have been "thrust unwillingly" into the national debate.
