Jo Mitchell, director of Redz Hairstylists Bungay, was left shocked after arriving to the salon this morning to find the windows smashed with blood splattered on one of them.

She said it appeared that someone had taken a hammer to every window at the front of the shop, which is in St Mary's Street, but noted that nothing inside the salon was stolen.

Mrs Mitchell said: "I was gutted - it is just a shame."

Suffolk police has launched an appeal for any information regarding the incident, which it says took place between 5.30pm on Tuesday night to 7am today.
