Concern as plastic pellets found on shore following tanker crash
The cargo tank of the Stena Immaculate tanker was ruptured when the vessel was struck by the Solong container ship at 10am on Monday, March 10.
It caused "multiple explosions" and fires while locals in King's Lynn - around 65 miles south of the collision - complained of a burning diesel smell which they believed may have been linked to the burning vessels.
Conservationists are now "deeply concerned" after the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) confirmed a "sheen" in the sea near The Wash, off the Norfolk coast, turned out to be small pellets of plastic........
