Expanding business Norfolk Jar Kitchen recognised by award
She began the business from home in Heacham three years ago after seeing a gap in the market for good-quality yet affordable treats and baking kits.
Charlotte, who has two children who have allergies, felt they were missing out on treats due to the cost of free from items.
She decided to make some herself, and wanted to ensure she wouldn’t charge a premium for dietary requirement-friendly products.
“It started from the kitchen table,” said Charlotte. “We then had to transform the living room into a stock room.”
The business began by selling two different bake-at-home cookie mixes, and this soon grew to eight products, with more and more shops asking to stock them.
After working from home for two and a half years, and seeing demand increase, she felt the time was right to take the next step and take on dedicated premises.
