Neil Withnall, 47, of High Street, Overstrand, was found in the River Blackwater near Maldon on the morning of July 13, 2025.

He was spotted by a person on a yacht, who alerted the coastguard. Mr Withnall was retrieved from the water, but pronounced dead at RNLI West Mersea Lifeboat Station at 9am.

An inquest into his death took place at Norfolk Coroner's Court on Thursday.
