The ambitious proposals would involve the creation of up to 360 new homes on land at Dumpling Green.

If approved, the homes would mainly be two storeys in height, although some of the buildings could extend to two-and-a-half storeys, with 25pc of the properties allocated for affordable housing.

The site has been identified by Breckland Council as "a sustainable location for the future growth of Dereham".
