No 'definitive timeline' for reopening vandalised multi-storey car park

The temporary closure signs and no entry cones blocking off the Britten Centre multi-storey car park in Lowestoft remain after it had been shut "for urgent works."

The busy shopping centre car park was closed in early July after being targeted by vandals.

It remains closed until further notice, and while the severity of the damage is still unknown it has prevented the site from "being opened safely to the public".

Now four months on, and amid online speculation that lots of repair work is required before it can reopen, East Suffolk Council has confirmed that a review is under way to assess the damage that has been caused.
