Around two dozen protestors, including members of Extinction Rebellion, had gathered outside King's Lynn town hall ahead of a West Norfolk Council meeting where the motion was to be debated.

However, Julian Kirk, the Reform councillor who had put forward the proposal, pulled it at the last moment meaning it was not discussed.

He now plans to raise the issue again next year.
