Alex Catt had demanded Labour apologise after Norwich City Council's standards committee rejected the party's claims that he had breached the authority's code of conduct.

Labour had lodged a complaint about social media posts in which the then councillor accused the party of running a "transphobic hate campaign" during the 'Nazigate' affair.
