Work starts on £900k solar panels at city leisure centre

A total of 612 solar panels are to be built at the Riverside Leisure Centre in Wherry Road, on the roof of the building and on top of structures in the car park.

As part of the £895,000 project, the car park will be closed for six weeks.

Those living in the area, however, are concerned a "mini solar farm" is being built.

Norwich City Council said that while "there will be some short-term disruption, these efforts are aimed at future-proofing the centre and significantly reducing its carbon footprint".
