Fiction: Enlightenment by Sarah Perry (Jonathan Cape)
General Non-Fiction: Sugar Beet Moon by Tor Falcon (Self-published)
History and Tradition: Logo Rewind: Trademarks of Medieval Norwich by Darren Leader (UEA Publishing Project)
The Mal Peet Children’s Award: Wild East by Ashley Hickson-Lovence (Penguin)
Poetry: The Snow Globe by Jenny Pagdin (Nine Arches Press)

Holly Ainley, head of programmes and creative engagement at the National Centre for Writing, said: "The six category-winning books are of an exceptionally high standard this year and judging the overall book of the year is going to be even more challenging than usual.
"Each of the category winners delivers an evocative, passionately written narrative, with themes ranging widely from early motherhood to our relationship with the celestial, to cultural design history. With such breadth of talent across non-fiction,........
