The event is being organised by activist group Defend Our Juries outside City Hall and follows protests held in London last weekend, where more than 500 people were arrested.

A ban on support for Palestine Action was implemented by the government last month when the group was proscribed as a terrorist organisation.

Membership of, or support for, Palestine Action is a criminal offence punishable by up to 14 years in prison.

Since it was formed in 2020, the group has conducted a series of direct action protests, largely against arms manufacturers operating in the UK and selling weapons to Israel.
