Neil Ashton, of Shrublands Court in Holt, died at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital (N&N) on April 13 this year after being found with a self-inflicted stab wound and a knife.

An inquest held at Norfolk Coroner’s Court this week heard that Mr Ashton had long suffered from gastrointestinal issues, and had become increasingly unhappy with his treatment in recent years.

Dr Chander, Mr Ashton’s GP from Holt Medical Practice, told the court that his patient had been “incredibly unhappy” with his care at the N&N.

But he added that no mental health condition was diagnosed, and Mr Ashton was not considered at risk of suicide or self-harm.
