Plans approved by Great Yarmouth Borough Council will see the transformation of Maritime House, a 19th-century building on Marine Parade that has stood empty for five years.

The project, by Kenzoku Holdings Ltd, a Norfolk-based company specialising in renovation, will see a café created on the ground floor, with three apartments above.

The firm said it aims to celebrate the building’s past through a “themed concept that recognises its rich history”, while the RNLI will be involved in the project, benefiting from fundraising events at the venue.
