Eight trees in residential street face the chop after experts raise safety concerns

Norfolk County Council's highway tree officer has recommended that eight trees in Stanley Avenue, off Thorpe Road, should be felled, with replacement trees planted.

It comes after they carried out the checks on the trees - predominantly cherry trees - ahead of a planned resurfacing of the footpaths along the road.

The officer has recommended that the eight trees be removed due to "their deteriorating condition, root conflict with the highway, and potential safety risks".

Officials at County Hall said: "Suitable replacement species will be planted to ensure the avenue retains its character and........
