Cottages face demolition to make way for multi-million-pound new road

The homes, near North Runcton, will have to be knocked down so the long-called for West Winch Housing Access Road, in the west of the county, can go ahead.

The 1.5-mile, single-lane carriageway scheme would connect the A47 and A10 south of King's Lynn and serve 4,000 homes planned for the West Winch area.

But, for the road to be built, Norfolk County Council needs to acquire about 122 acres of land, including those cottages, which are currently empty.
